S'PORE GIRL TO QUIT SMOKING BY LIVING IN GLASS HOUSE

SINGAPORE, April 12 (Bernama) – A 26-year-old Singaporean lass, who has been smoking since she was 14, is trying to quit smoking by living inside a glass house.
Cheyenne Lu has challenged herself to quit smoking within three days while
staying and sleeping in a specially built glass house in busy Orchard Road here.
She entered the glass house yesterday evening with all her personal belongings minus the cigarette packs and will come out tomorrow evening after a two-night stay there.
She also brought a laptop which she would use to write her experience living in the glass house on her personal blog at
http://yourroyalsiren.blogspot.com.
Lu, who smoked an average of 12 to 15 sticks a day for the past 12 years, said she decided to quit smoking as her health has suffered.
"My stamina has dwindled down to nothing and I also have a sporadic smoker's cough. Smoking also wreaks havoc on my skin," she said.
Lu said her skin got dehydrated and dull, adding that smoking was also such
an expensive habit to upkeep that she would rather spend that money on shopping or travelling.
Lu, an avid fan of Arsenal football team, urged those who passed by Orchard Road to drop their heartfelt messages on her message board placed outside the glass house.
